At WOW Aruba, our purpose is to empower women to rise personally, socially, and professionally.

Our President

Meet Giancarla Lobbrecht,

 

Specialist in Public Governance, Management and Policy in Public Administration; currently working in the Legal Department of Human Resources.

 

As President of WOW Aruba, Giancarla is committed to elevating the organization’s impact through purposeful leadership and strategic growth.

 

Her focus for this board year centers on:

 

  • Leading the fourth WOW Aruba Conference
  • Hosting mindful and educational monthly meetings  
  • Recruiting and retaining purpose-driven members who align with WOW’s mission
  • Update and strengthen the organization’s operational manual and implement individual development plans for members
  • Define WOW Aruba’s advocacy focus to ensure sustained relevance and influence in the community.

    Monthly Meetings

    At WOW's monthly meetings, members have the chance to enhance their professional and personal skills through expert-led presentations and workshops on various topics. Non-members are welcome to join the monthly meetings to experience our organization for a fee of AWG. 55,-. Sign up below for our mailing list and receive our monthly invitations.

    Community Empower-ment

    As part of WOW Aruba's objectives, we are dedicated to giving back to the community through our charity and fundraising committee. Each year, members choose goodwill initiatives through a survey. We actively seek volunteer opportunities and welcome organizations to reach out to us if we can contribute to their cause.

    Social Events

    WOW members enjoy quarterly social activities that go beyond connection and fun. Each event is designed to foster networking, collaboration, and personal growth. These gatherings provide a supportive space for women to share experiences, exchange ideas, and strengthen both their professional relationships and personal development within the WOW community.

    Advocacy Efforts

    Beginning of the 2025–2026 board year, WOW Aruba officially launched its advocacy efforts. Our focus is on advancing gender equality and reducing inequalities through strategic partnerships, awareness campaigns, and community initiatives, we seek to amplify women’s voices, address key social challenges, and contribute to lasting positive change on the island.
