Our Story

When a “wow” moment turns into a WOW movement…

What happens when a group of young women put their collective minds together over a glass of wine? A group of us attended a conference together, and afterwards we gathered over a glass of wine.

All of us there were young, female professionals—each on our own journey, but traveling on a similar path.

The conversations we had about our careers, our goals, and our roles within our community was both affirming and inspiring.

But one night of fellowship and encouragement was not enough…we wanted more for ourselves and other young women out there on similar journeys.

The lack of any meaningful space for young, professional women to come together on the island to further develop ourselves professionally and personally, while also contributing to our community with purpose, was evident.

We started a group chat on the subject in March, 2017 and within 3 months, WOW was launched, with our first official meeting held on June 7, 2017.”

Monthly Meetings
Monthly meetings are organized for the members. During the monthly meetings which take place on the third Wednesday of the month we host featured speakers to cover different topics (ex. stress management skills, parenting skills, time management, budgeting etc.). Non-members are welcome to join the monthly meetings and empower themselves for a fee of Awg. 45.00. Sign up below for our mailing list and get the latest scoop!

Community Empowerment
One of the objective of WOW Aruba is to also give back to the community, this is done through our charity and fundraising committee. Goodwill efforts are chosen on a yearly basis by members by means of a survey. We’re always looking for volunteer opportunities, if we can contribute to your organization please reach out to us!

Social Events
Social activities are organized on a quarterly basis. The objective of the social activities are to promote networking opportunities and team-building between the WOW Members.
